Lauren Curet
Development Coordinator, Grants & Stewardship
Lauren Curet is the Development Coordinator, Grants & Stewardship at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.
Curet became a published playwright when her collaborated work Girl Power: Voices of a Generation debuted at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2009. Curet’s play Therapy reached the semi-finals of Long Island City’s Act One: One Act Festival in New York in 2019 and the finals of the Avante Garage Theatre Company’s Word Power! project in Los Angeles that same year. She was a collaborative writer for the devised play According to This…, which premiered in Brooklyn, NY in 2019, and her full-length play Maya had its first reading at the HBMG Foundation’s Winter Playwright retreat in 2020.
Curet is also an experienced lyric soprano and has performed the roles of Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Despina in Cosi fan Tutte, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro and Ilia in Idomeneo. Additionally, she was the first woman of color to perform the role of Suor Bianca in the Italian translation of I dialoghi delle Carmelitane.
She is a graduate of the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of the Music and Art & Performing Arts in New York City and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Manhattan School of Music.
