Dana Rebecca Woods is a costume designer for theater, film and television. Her design work includes Pipeline, directed by Ron Parson at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and Ensemble Theater Cincinnati; The Color Purple, directed by Jeffrey Polk at the Greenway Court Theater; Sheldon Epps’ Blues in the Night at San Francisco’s Post Street Theater, Laguna Playhouse and The Lovelace Studio Theater at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts; In the Red and Brown Water at UC Santa Barbara; Shout Sister Shout, Stop Kiss, Above the Fold, Fences and others for Pasadena Playhouse; Jitney and Fences at South Coast Repertory. Her film and television credits include Go for Sisters, written and directed by John Sayles, and the telenovela Watch Over Me for My Network TV.

She is a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829; Costume Designers Guild Local 892;
and Motion Picture Costumers Local 705. She is also a labor representative for the Costume Designers Guild and an IATSE delegate to the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor.
To complement her work as a labor representative, she has recently been designated co-chair of the CDG Diversity Committee.

Woods received her B.A. in art history and studio art from Amherst College and her M.F.A. in costume design from Brandeis University. She was previously an assistant professor at the University of Central Florida.

When not designing productions or involved with labor activities, Woods creates teaching artist curriculum for after-school programs.
