Writer, director and actor Guinevere Turner teaches screenwriting at UCLA TFT and has been working in film and TV since her 1994 debut film Go Fish, in which she starred, wrote and produced.

Turner teamed up with director Mary Harron to write the films American Psycho and The Notorious Bettie Page. She was also a writer and story editor on Showtime’s The L Word, and played a recurring character on that series. Additionally, she has written and directed seven short films, two of which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Her latest screenplay, Charlie Says, tells the story of the women who killed for Charles Manson as they serve out the first few years of their decades-long prison terms. Directed by Mary Harron, the film is slated for a Spring 2019 release.

As an actor, Turner’s credits include roles in The Watermelon Woman, Chasing Amy, American Psycho and Treasure Island.

In addition to UCLA TFT, Turner has taught screenwriting at her alma mater, Sarah Lawrence College, and at Columbia University.
