Jill Gold
Lecturer
Jill Gold has been an Equity stage manager for more than 34 years and teaches Advanced Stage Management at UCLA TFT. Based in Los Angeles, she has toured the U.S. and Canada with shows such as Wicked, City of Angels and Les Miserables; played orchestral venues with Eric Idle’s Not the Messiah (He’s a Very Naughty Boy), and visited Germany and Austria with Sisterella. With more than 150 shows to her credit, she is grateful to her “home” theaters: Pasadena Playhouse (38 shows), McCoy Rigby Entertainment (28 shows), Sacramento Music Circus (12 shows), Reprise (23 shows) and Geffen Playhouse (12 shows).
In addition to teaching at UCLA TFT, she teaches a Beginning Stage Management class at her alma mater, Occidental College, where she is an adjunct professor. She is also a frequent guest lecturer at other educational institutions. Gold is the new co-author of Stage Management by Lawrence Stern, the long-time textbook for beginning stage managers.
