Jeanne Tyson
Lecturer
Jeanne Tyson is a Los Angeles-based cinematographer and filmmaker. She is a lecturer in the Department of Film, Television and Digital Media.
Ms. Tyson has shot several features and commercials, as well as dozens of shorts and documentaries. Her work has been featured in film festivals worldwide. She frequently lectures on cinematography, and is also an instructor at the UCLA Extension Program for Entertainment Studies.
Earlier this year, Ms. Tyson worked directly with Academy Awards executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron as their behind-the-scenes videographer. Her latest features, “The Lovely Rejects,” directed by Judy Phu, and “Limo Ride,” directed by Gideon C. Kennedy and Marcus Rosentrater, are currently in post-production. Ms. Tyson is in pre-production with Director Becky Smith on her next feature film. Additionally, she is in development on a slate of independent film projects for The Anchorage, a production company she owns with sister and producer, Elizabeth Tyson.
Born and raised in Mobile, Ala., Ms. Tyson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and Theatre from Rhodes College and an M.F.A. in Production and Cinematography from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.
